President William Ruto’s head of security Noah Maiyo has been replaced from his powerful position in the latest changes.Maiyo has been recalled to police headquarters after a major security incident in Kilifi County on Sunday involving President William Ruto.
An unidentified man breached security and approached Dr Ruto before being whisked away by members of the president’s elite security.
It forced the intervention of the Head of State to save the man from the officers wrath.
Following the incident, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja issued a strong worded statement, calling for fast response in addressing security lapses around Dr Ruto..
Maiyo took over as the head of Ruto’s security in 2024 when he succeeded William Oloonkishu Yiampoy.
He had previously served as the director of operations at the Presidential Escort Unit.
In the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Maiyo started his police career as a GSU officer. He has so far protected four of Kenya’s five Presidents.
