A new opinion poll by Mwelekeo Insights has revealed how voters in Embakasi West are currently leaning as the constituency prepares for the 2027 General Election. Although the election is still some distance away, the survey shows that many residents have already settled on their preferred candidates, making the race one to watch in the coming years.
Chuma Leads the Poll
According to the survey, Peter Maina Chuma of the DCP is the most preferred candidate, receiving 39 percent support from respondents.
The results place him at the top of the race and suggest that he has built a strong support base across the constituency.
While his lead is significant, it is not large enough to make the contest predictable. Political support can change over time, especially as candidates increase their engagement with voters and present their plans for the constituency.
ODM’s Kennedy Odhat came in second with 31.2 percent support. The poll shows that he remains a serious contender and is within reach of the top position.
His performance indicates that a large section of voters already trusts him to represent the constituency.
If he manages to attract more support in the coming months, the gap between him and the frontrunner could narrow further.
Mark Mwenje of the DCP again secured 28.5 percent support, placing him third but still firmly in the race. The difference between him and the second-placed candidate is relatively small, showing that the contest remains highly competitive.
His numbers suggest that he continues to enjoy strong backing and could benefit from any future shifts in voter opinion. With the election still ahead, his supporters will be encouraged by the poll findings.
One of the most striking findings of the survey is the very low number of undecided voters. Only 0.2 percent of respondents said they had not yet decided who they would support.
This suggests that most people who participated in the poll already have a clear preference.
For candidates, this means winning over supporters from rival camps may become more important than targeting undecided voters.
George Theuri of UDA party received 1.1 percent support, making him the only other candidate to register notable numbers in the survey.
