Osotsi clarifies identity of woman in CCTV, denies love triangle claims

Date:

Godfrey Osotsi has come forward with a detailed account of the events surrounding the recent assault captured in CCTV footage at a Kisumu hotel, firmly dismissing speculation that has been spreading online.

Speaking from his hospital bed on Thursday, April 9, 2026, the visibly injured senator sought to clarify what happened and respond to what he described as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

He appeared concerned not only about his condition but also about how quickly unverified claims had taken over public discussion.

Osotsi strongly rejected allegations suggesting that the attack was linked to a love triangle. The claims had gained attention on social media, with many users sharing and commenting on the footage without confirmed details. According to the senator, the woman seen with him in the video is Jennifer, an employee who works in his office.

He emphasized that their relationship is strictly professional and said it was unfair for people to draw personal conclusions without evidence.

He expressed disappointment over what he termed as reckless assumptions that have fueled unnecessary controversy. In his view, such claims shift attention away from the real issue, which is the assault itself. Osotsi said the incident should be treated as a serious criminal matter rather than being turned into online speculation.

The legislator also pointed fingers at individuals he believes are responsible for spreading the false narrative. He accused a blogger, who is also a Member of County Assembly, of being financially motivated to push the claims.

According to Osotsi, the blogger was paid to distort the facts and damage his reputation. He described the actions as unethical and harmful to public discourse.

Despite his injuries, the senator remained firm in defending his name. He stressed that the focus should remain on finding those responsible for the attack and ensuring justice is served.

He urged investigators to move with speed and professionalism in handling the case.

Osotsi called on the public to be careful about the information they consume and share. He warned that misinformation can easily spread and overshadow the truth, especially in sensitive situations.
