“It was a matter of life and death,” Rozinah Mwakideu recounts emotional toll of her brief marriage to Burale

Date:

Rozinah Mwakideu has opened up about a painful chapter in her life that she describes as the darkest period she has ever faced.

The sister to well-known radio personality Alex Mwakideu shared that her short-lived marriage to Pastor Robert Burale was the biggest mistake of her life.

What began as a union filled with hope and faith quickly turned into an experience that tested her emotionally and mentally.

The two got married in 2012, but the marriage lasted just over a year before they went their separate ways. Rozinah said that walking away was not an easy choice and that it took every bit of strength she had.

To her, staying in the marriage would have been like risking her life because of the emotional and psychological pressure she faced. Looking back, she considers the decision to leave as a necessary step for her survival.

Although separation often leaves room for reconciliation, she explained that in her case, it was never an option.

The fact that they did not have children together came as a small blessing, as it made the process of moving on less complicated.

According to Rozinah, problems started appearing not long after their wedding. At first, Burale came across as charming, kind, and supportive, but that image soon began to fade.

She recalled an incident where he asked her for KSh 250,000, claiming it was for his father’s estate. The request left her confused since they had not been together long enough to build that level of trust, and she found the situation uncomfortable.

It was one of the first signs that things were not as genuine as they seemed. As time went on, infidelity became another painful part of her experience. Rozinah said that she received messages from other women who claimed to have been involved with Burale.

These revelations left her heartbroken and made her question everything about the relationship. Along with other personal differences that made them incompatible, the betrayal was too heavy to overlook.

Eventually, she decided to end the marriage for her own peace of mind.

After the separation, Rozinah chose to focus on rebuilding her life and rediscovering her purpose. She turned her attention to her music career and made personal growth a priority.

Her family, especially her brother Alex, stood by her side during the difficult times, offering the emotional support she needed to recover.

With their encouragement, she found the strength to start over and heal from the past.

Today, Rozinah speaks about her story not to seek sympathy but to help others understand the importance of protecting one’s emotional and mental health. Her openness about what she went through highlights the courage it takes to leave a harmful relationship and rebuild from scratch.

It also reminds people that no matter how dark life may seem, healing and happiness are still possible. Her journey reflects resilience, strength, and the comfort that comes from family support. Now at peace, Rozinah continues to focus on her music and personal growth, embracing a new chapter filled with hope and confidence.
