Court left amused as Kidero links himself to Ruto and talks of 13 wives

Date:

Court proceedings at Milimani have taken a strange turn involving Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, also known as Nelson Muriithi, who is facing charges of unlawful entry into Bunge Towers. On September 30, 2025, he appeared before Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi where he denied the allegations.

The prosecution claimed he had been arrested on August 7, 2025, around 9:30 pm at the Bunge Towers parking area without authority. Kidero, however, dismissed the account and insisted that he had been at State House during that time and not anywhere near Parliament buildings.

Magistrate Ekhubi pressed him to explain if he understood the difference between State House and Bunge Towers. Kidero replied that the two places are far apart, with Bunge Towers situated in town while State House lies a distance away.

He continued to maintain that the police report had mixed up details of his whereabouts. This explanation left the court with more questions than answers about his actual location on the night of his arrest.

The matter took a surprising twist on September 25 when Kidero declared before the court that he is President William Ruto’s son. He went on to say that his mother, Angeline Muriithi, was instrumental in helping Ruto secure power and claimed that Parliament had made a mistake about his identity.

This claim immediately drew attention and added a new layer of drama to the ongoing case.In earlier appearances, Kidero had adopted a softer tone by asking for forgiveness. He admitted he had entered Bunge Towers but said his reason was to search for his 13 wives.

He named three of them Wambui, Amber Ray, and Miss Njagi while refusing to disclose the rest. His unusual defense triggered laughter inside the courtroom, with many struggling to take his explanations seriously.

Despite court documents indicating that he accessed the building twice, Kidero himself insisted it was three times. At one point, he interrupted the session to compliment the magistrate’s appearance, which again amused those in attendance.

Even as the hearings continue, Kidero has repeatedly said he has no grudges against anyone and apologised if his actions caused any disturbance or offence. The prosecution, however, is still firm on pressing charges of unlawful entry, and the case remains active as the court works to establish the truth behind his contradictory statements.
