Agnes Kagure welcomes KPP grassroots aspirants meeting with Dick Kamau

Date:

Agnes Kagure shared an update earlier today about a meeting between grassroots leaders and the leadership of the Kenya Patriots Party (KPP), saying the engagement was productive and important for the party’s growth.

The meeting brought together aspiring leaders from the grassroots who are interested in contesting under KPP, and they held discussions with the party’s Secretary General, Dick Kamau.

In her message, Kagure explained that such meetings are valuable because they create space for open dialogue and better coordination within the party. She noted that when leaders come together to share ideas and plans, it strengthens the party’s internal structures and helps prepare aspirants to serve their communities more effectively.

According to her, these engagements are not just routine but are key steps in building a strong and organized political movement.

The party continues to promote an open nomination process, where every aspirant, especially those from the grassroots, is given a fair chance to compete. This approach aims to ensure that leadership opportunities are not limited to a few but are accessible to anyone willing to step forward.

Kagure emphasized that inclusivity is central to the party’s values, and grassroots leaders play a critical role because they understand the real challenges faced by ordinary citizens.

This update comes at a time when KPP is expanding its presence across the country. In recent months, Kagure has been actively engaging leaders and residents in different regions, including areas in Mt Kenya such as Nyeri.

These meetings have focused on sharing the party’s vision while also listening to the needs and concerns of local communities. The efforts are part of early preparations for future elections, including those expected in 2027.

Grassroots leaders involved in these discussions often bring up key issues affecting their areas, such as access to water, infrastructure, education, and employment opportunities.

By engaging directly with the party’s leadership, they are able to contribute ideas that can shape policies and strategies. This helps align the party’s direction with the expectations of the people on the ground.

As Secretary General, Dick Kamau plays a central role in guiding these discussions and ensuring that the party’s plans are well coordinated. Meetings like this one help set the pace for building party structures and organizing future activities, including consultative forums and eventual leadership formation.

Kagure has also been consistent in calling for teamwork within the party. She has previously shared that she is working closely with Kamau and other leaders to complete nationwide consultations before formalizing leadership structures.

This step-by-step process is meant to ensure that the party grows in an organized and inclusive way.
