Activist Hanifa reveals rogue cop who allegedly shot Joshua Nderitu in Kasarani

Date:

Anger is growing in Kasarani after a young man named Joshua Nderitu was allegedly shot dead by a police officer during a confrontation with civilians on Tuesday. Residents say Joshua was unarmed and not part of the commotion.

He was shot near a shopping centre where police had shown up during what was supposed to be a normal patrol.

Activist Hanifa posted a photo online claiming it showed the officer who killed Joshua. Her caption read, “This is the killer cop who killed Joshua Nderitu in Kasarani yesterday!”

The image has spread quickly online, with many Kenyans demanding justice. Joshua’s friend confirmed he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This case has brought fresh attention to police brutality in Kenya. Many say the police often use force against unarmed people, especially in low-income areas.

Hanifa later added, “We are tired of burying our brothers. The police are not above the law.” Her words have been shared widely by angry citizens online.

So far, the police in Kasarani have not said anything about the shooting or responded to the post naming the officer. Human rights groups are demanding action from the Internal Affairs Unit. Hashtags like #JusticeForJoshua and #StopPoliceKillings are trending, with protests starting in some areas.

Joshua’s family is mourning, and Kenyans are once again demanding an end to killings by police.

Here at Kenyadaily.online we’re up to the story and we will update you on any new development.

Stay tuned.
