“Murkomen and IG must resign” Khalwale says after video of police allegedly protecting goons emerges

Date:

Senator Boni Khalwale has strongly criticized the police following the circulation of a video from Kisii.

In a social media post, the doctor turned politician claimed that officers in uniform were seen protecting individuals described as goons while they attacked participants in the Linda Mwananchi campaign.

Khalwale tagged Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and demanded that both Murkomen and the Inspector General of Police resign immediately.

He described the situation as completely unacceptable and called for accountability at the highest levels of the security forces.

The video in question shows a busy outdoor area with people moving around on a dirt road. Some individuals appear to be involved in confrontations while police officers are visible in the background.

The footage has sparked widespread anger online, with many users sharing it and echoing calls for action against those in charge of law enforcement.

This latest incident comes amid heightened political tensions in the region. Khalwale’s remarks reflect growing frustration among some opposition voices regarding the handling of public demonstrations and the role of security agencies in maintaining order.

Supporters of the senator have praised his firm stance, while others are urging for calm and proper investigation before drawing conclusions.

The video continues to circulate widely, prompting questions about police neutrality during public gatherings.

The demands for resignation highlight the deep divisions over security matters and political freedoms in the country.
