Police in Eldoret are investigating the fatal stabbing of a young university student whose body was found inside a locked house, with detectives examining a possible love triangle as the motive behind the attack.
Faith Jeptoo, a second-year Education Arts student at Mount Kenya University, was discovered dead in her residence in the Action area of Eldoret.
Neighbours raised the alarm after becoming concerned about her welfare. When family members and officers arrived, they found the house padlocked from the outside.
The keys were missing, believed to have been taken by the person who left the scene after the attack.
Inside, officers found Faith with multiple stab wounds, including serious injuries to her neck and forehead. Her body was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
The family reported the matter at Ainaptich Police Station, and detectives have since begun collecting evidence from the scene while tracing people who had contact with her in the hours before her death.
