Wetangula’s brother dies months after mother’s death

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi are mourning the death of their elder brother, Mwalimu James Mukhwana Wetang’ula.

The sad news was confirmed on Wednesday, December 10, by Hon Wanyonyi, who shared a heartfelt tribute to his late brother.

In his tribute, Wanyonyi described Mukhwana as a courageous, honourable, and selfless man who always stood firm in his principles. He noted that his brother’s wisdom and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Mwalimu Mukhwana was widely respected in his community. As a teacher and mentor, he touched many lives through education and guidance.Friends and colleagues remember him as a man of integrity who believed in discipline, service, and compassion.

His contribution to shaping young minds will remain part of his enduring legacy.Leaders from across the political divide have joined Kenyans in sending condolences to the Wetang’ula family.

Messages of sympathy have poured in, with many acknowledging the pain of losing a loved one so soon after another family tragedy.

The loss comes almost a year after the death of their mother on December 20, 2024, deepening the family’s grief.
