Moses Kuria warns of plot to disrupt Gachagua’s campaign using fake CCK supporters

Date:

Moses Kuria has raised alarm over what he describes as a dangerous scheme aimed at sabotaging Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s upcoming campaign tour.

The former Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader claimed that he has credible information about a group plotting to create chaos during the rallies.

According to Kuria, the individuals behind the plan are linked to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and are allegedly preparing to hire people to attend Gachagua’s events disguised in CCK uniforms.

The goal, he said, is to make it appear that members of his former party are responsible for any disturbance that might occur.

Kuria warned that such actions threaten the peace and stability of the country’s political environment. He said it was unfortunate that some politicians were resorting to deceit and manipulation to gain political advantage.

He also dismissed claims that CCK or any of its members had anything to do with the alleged Ksh10 million debt, which he said was being used as a false excuse to justify the plot.

Kuria emphasized that his former party has maintained its independence and has no involvement in any financial or political dispute tied to the current tension.

He urged security agencies to take the matter seriously and investigate those involved before the situation gets out of hand.

Kuria insisted that every political leader has the right to campaign freely and engage citizens without fear of intimidation or sabotage.

He reminded political players that democracy can only thrive when there is mutual respect and tolerance.

According to him, politics should be driven by ideas and constructive debate, not chaos or blackmail.

The former Cabinet Secretary further called on supporters of both sides to remain calm and not allow themselves to be used for selfish political gains. He said that violence or disruption during campaigns does not benefit anyone and only serves to divide Kenyans further.

Kuria also revealed that he has already informed the relevant authorities about the alleged plan and will continue to provide more details if the threats persist.

He expressed concern that political rivalries within the Kenya Kwanza coalition were becoming toxic and could erode the democratic principles the coalition once stood for.

Kuria warned that unchecked political hostility could undermine public trust in leadership and harm the country’s stability.

Political analysts have interpreted his statement as a sign of deepening divisions within the ruling alliance, especially as leaders prepare for the next political season.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who recently announced his nationwide tour under his new political outfit, Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), has not yet issued a response to Kuria’s claims.

Kenyans online have expressed mixed reactions, with some supporting Kuria’s call for peace and transparency while others have urged authorities to investigate the allegations quickly to prevent unrest.
