Mercy Gakuya and Ronald Karauri trail Victor Kanyari in latest digital poll conducted by Mwelekeo Insights

Date:

Digital based public opinion poll by Mwelekeo Insights on the Kasarani Parliamentary Seat ahead of the 2027 general elections shows Independent candidate Victor Kanyari taking an early lead among local voters.

According to final results published on the Mwelekeo Insights live polling platform, Kanyari secured the top position in a digital poll designed to measure candidate preferences across Kasarani constituency in Nairobi County.

The survey recorded full participation among registered digital respondents, with every submitted ballot registered as valid and zero rejected choices reported.

The Top Candidates

Victor Kanyari emerged at the top of the rankings after securing 31.8 percent of the total voter preference.

He was followed closely by Mercy Gakuya of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), who took second place with 27.6 percent of the final tally.

Incumbent Kasarani Member of Parliament Ronald Karauri, running under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, placed third after capturing 21.3 percent of the overall support.

Combined, these top three contenders commanded more than 80 percent of the overall vote share, demonstrating a strong concentration of voter interest around their respective candidacies.

Performance of Other Candidates

The remaining share of voter preferences was divided among four other options listed on the ballot.

Victor Sankara, also contesting under the UDA banner, placed fourth with 8.7 percent of the total support.

Boniface Nyamu, representing the DCP party, came in fifth place after securing 6.2 percent of the overall preferences. David Asunda ranked sixth with 4.3 percent.

Meanwhile, a tiny fraction of participants remained undecided, accounting for just 0.1 percent of the total sample.

The presence of multiple candidates from major parties such as UDA and DCP highlights how internal competition and party nominations could influence voter choices across the constituency.

What the Survey Shows

The survey results offer a clear look into current political trends within Kasarani, demonstrating how early voter interest is taking shape in urban areas.

Kanyari’s position at the top as an Independent candidate indicates a strong level of personal appeal among online voters, while the solid percentages for Gakuya and Karauri show the continued strength of established political parties.

Political observers note that while online polls reflect the choices of digital participants, these early figures provide candidates with useful data on their current standing and help them plan their community outreach strategies as the 2027 contest draws closer.
