The death of Roselyne Oyaro has left a cloud of sadness among many who knew her both in Kenya and abroad. At only 20 years old, Rose, as her friends fondly called her, was full of dreams and plans for the future.
Her life was cut short in a heartbreaking way while on her way back to the United States after visiting her family in Kenya. What was meant to be a safe trip home turned into a tragedy that no one could have expected.
Roselyne had spent a short time in Kenya, reconnecting with loved ones and enjoying the warmth of home after being away. Family members say she was cheerful and full of life during her visit, often expressing how happy she was to be back.
When the day came for her to return to the U.S., everything appeared normal. She departed from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and boarded her first flight to Amsterdam.
That part of the journey went well, and she even communicated with her family, assuring them that everything was fine.
Trouble began during her second flight, a KLM connection to the United States. Shortly after takeoff, Roselyne began to feel unwell. Reports indicate that she experienced shortness of breath and seemed visibly distressed.
The flight crew quickly recognized the seriousness of the situation and acted swiftly, deciding to make an emergency landing in Canada to get her medical help.
Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Roselyne passed away before the plane could land.
The devastating news reached her family soon after, leaving them in complete disbelief.
Her parents, friends, and those close to her have been struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Many describe her as a bright and compassionate young woman who was always ready to help others. Her warmth and dependability made her stand out among her peers.
For her family, losing her at such a young age feels unbearable, especially after the joy of having her home for a short while.
