Wamuchomba promises ‘Goat meat and millions’ as leaders head to Githunguri

Date:

Mount Kenya residents are being called upon to turn up in large numbers at the PCEA Githaithi Church in Githunguri, Kiambu County, for what is being described as a major fundraiser with possible political and historical.

The event, which is set to attract leaders from both Mount Kenya and Rift Valley, has been publicized widely by Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, who has become known for her bold and direct approach when speaking to her constituents.

Wamuchomba took to social media to urge locals not to miss the big day, using a mix of humour and local slang to drive the point home. She referred to the church gathering as a grand event where even the popular goat-meat spot will be in full swing.

She promised that money would rain like a heavy downpour, hinting at the generous contributions expected from visiting leaders. The main goal of the fundraiser is to support the construction of a large church structure, and Wamuchomba made it clear that this would not be an ordinary event.

Among the notable leaders expected to attend are Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, both of whom are known to be close allies of President William Ruto.

Their presence is being viewed not just as support for a church initiative, but also as a calculated political statement aimed at building and maintaining alliances between the Rift Valley and Mount Kenya regions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wamuchomba also assured residents that the gathering would be peaceful and focused, saying that the only thing people needed to bring was money in their pockets.

She said there would be no violence or chaos, just a peaceful and powerful show of unity and support. She referred to the visiting leaders as “the whole gang,” suggesting that the event will be backed by some of the most influential figures in government and politics.

After the Githunguri event, attention will shift to Kiambaa for another round of political engagement and community outreach. The back-to-back events appear to be part of a broader plan to build stronger grassroots networks and prepare for the coming political season.

As alliances continue to shift and political stakes rise, events like these are becoming more than just religious or community functions. They are carefully planned strategies to shape the political future of the region.

Residents have been warned not to miss out, with the phrase “kosa uchekwe” becoming a kind of slogan tied to the event. This simply means that those who fail to attend will be laughed at or mocked for missing such a grand opportunity. As the day approaches, all eyes are now on Githaithi Church, where politics, religion, and money will all come together under one roof.
