TRACY NYARIKI: Family Reveals Last Moments Of Woman Killed In The US

Date:

The family of the 31-year-old Kenyan woman who was killed in the United States has spoken out about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Tracy Nyariki, 31, a Newark, Delaware resident, went missing before Christmas, and her body was discovered in the car of the prime suspect in the case on Friday, December 20.

The New Castle County Police Department initiated a search for Nyariki after her employer told authorities that she had not been to work for many days.

The deceased’s family claims that the primary suspect in the case, Nobert Matara, murdered and dismembered her body out of jealousy.

Nyariki’s death occurred just weeks after she had a traditional wedding with a new spouse, which the family believes prompted her ex-boyfriend to perform the horrible act.

“They broke up long ago, and Tracy moved on with her life,” one of Tracy’s sisters said. “I think he saw that he lost chances with her completely.”

The family also revealed how the news of her death caught them by surprise, as Nyariki, who worked as a nurse in the United States, was in good spirits prior to her death and was looking forward to the Christmas festivities.

“My auntie told us they were looking for her. We were eventually told she had been found but we were never told to what extent,” one of Nyariki’s relatives said.“

On Saturday, one of our cousins told us she was missing. We were very worried, and on Sunday night we were informed that she was no more.”

This was the third tragedy to strike the family in recent years; the late Nyariki’s mother died in 2013, and her father has been confined to a wheelchair since suffering a stroke in 2010.

The late Nyariki’s uncle also said that she was quite new in her profession, and her family back in Kenya relied heavily on her.

“She has not been in that job for many years. Some of us were happy for her because she could help us with her dad’s medicine and other issues in the family.”

Meanwhile, the family is dealing with a new setback: the logistical obstacles of getting her remains from the US to Kenya for burial.
