A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three people on Monday after a bodaboda collided head-on with a matatu near Mutituni Market along the Machakos-Kangundo Road in Machakos County.
According to the information available, the motorcycle was carrying four pillion passengers and was travelling towards Machakos Town when the accident happened.
Reports indicate that the rider attempted to overtake another vehicle before crashing into an oncoming matatu that was heading towards Kangundo.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving three of the passengers dead at the scene. The accident drew the attention of residents and other road users, who rushed to the area to offer help before emergency responders arrived.
The remaining victims who survived the crash were rescued and taken to Machakos Level Five Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
