Drama unfolded at Laikipia Airbase after a woman working as a senior government lawyer forced her way into the military facility. The woman, Adeline Rogito, is a Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) based in Nanyuki.
She is married to a Kenya Air Force officer who is also stationed at the same base. The situation started when Ms. Rogito reportedly received a message from one of her children at around 11 in the morning. The child had complained about a visitor their father was entertaining at home, and this message is said to have triggered her anger.
Later that day, around 4 p.m., Ms. Rogito drove to the airbase, not to visit officially, but to confront her husband. Instead of following the proper security procedures, she reportedly forced her way in. She drove past the first security checkpoint without clearance and then broke through the second gate as guards tried to stop her.

According to reports, she ignored all orders to stop, choosing instead to push forward without regard for the strict rules that govern military areas.
Once inside, she made her way directly to her husband’s house within the base. Eyewitnesses say she went on a rampage, breaking windows, kicking doors open, and damaging furniture. The military police were called and responded quickly, arresting her at the scene.
Her actions caused damage, and her arrest was not taken lightly. She was later released on cash bail as police continue with their investigations. Authorities say this case is being treated very seriously due to both the security breach and the destruction of property.
Laikipia East Sub County Police Commander Daniel Kitavi confirmed that he was aware of the incident but explained that further information would be provided by the investigation team. The military base is known for its tight security, and civilians rarely get access without following strict procedures. Ms. Rogito’s actions not only endangered herself but also disrupted operations within the base.
Her decision to ignore commands and force entry shocked many, especially considering her position as a senior prosecutor who is supposed to uphold the law.

As a senior public official, Ms. Rogito is expected to act with discipline and responsibility, yet in this case, she went against the very law she is tasked to defend. It is still not clear whether any disciplinary steps will be taken against her by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions or if the military will press charges.
