SHA In Shambles As Bitok’s Propaganda Masks The Suffering Of Millions Without Healthcare

Gerald Bitok has once again found himself at the center of controversy for his blatant dishonesty and apparent incompetence in addressing the critical state of the government’s healthcare program, SHA (Social Health Authority).

His comments, riddled with condescension and misinformation, reveal a man more focused on bootlicking government initiatives than addressing the genuine struggles Kenyans face under a failed healthcare system.

The SHA was supposed to provide a seamless transition from NHIF and deliver universal healthcare to all Kenyans.

However, the reality on the ground paints a grim picture.

Hospitals are detaining patients over unpaid bills, and countless Kenyans are stranded without access to essential medical services.

The promise of a smooth transition was nothing but empty rhetoric.

While people suffer, Bitok and others in the government’s PR machinery are busy peddling excuses instead of taking accountability.

His attack on a concerned citizen, @bevalynekwambo3, highlights his insensitivity and failure to grasp the fundamental flaws of the SHA system.

Instead of addressing legitimate grievances, he chose to blame the victim, accusing her of misinformation and ignorance.

This was a shameful attempt to deflect from the glaring inefficiencies of a program he champions.Bitok’s claim that public education efforts have been sabotaged by critics is laughable.

The government’s failure to adequately inform Kenyans about SHA registration and payment processes lies squarely on their shoulders.

The confusion around payment gateways, means testing, and service access reflects poor planning and communication.

Bitok’s defense of this chaos exposes his desperation to shield the government from criticism, even when it is well-deserved.

Moreover, his attempt to justify the SHA’s shortcomings by comparing it to private insurance is absurd.

Unlike private insurance, SHA is supposed to be a public initiative funded by taxpayers.

The public has every right to demand transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity.

The SHA’s complicated processes and selective service delivery make it inaccessible to many, defeating the very purpose of universal healthcare.

Bitok’s arguments also ignore the fact that NHIF, despite its flaws, provided clear guidelines on what it covered.

The SHA, on the other hand, seems shrouded in confusion, leaving patients at the mercy of bureaucratic red tape.

His suggestion that people follow due process rings hollow when the process itself is broken.

The truth is that Bitok is part of a government propaganda machine that prioritizes PR over tangible results.

While he accuses others of failing to contribute to the healthcare pool, he conveniently ignores the reality that Kenyans are already burdened with excessive taxes and payments.

The SHA’s failure is not due to non-compliance by citizens but rather the government’s inability to design a functional and equitable system.

Kenyans deserve better than a healthcare system that benefits a privileged few while leaving the majority to fend for themselves.

They also deserve better leadership than Gerald Bitok, whose incompetence and blind loyalty to the government only exacerbate the crisis.

The SHA must urgently address its flaws, simplify its processes, and ensure that universal healthcare is truly universal.

Until then, no amount of PR from Bitok or others can cover up the glaring failures of this initiative.
