President Samia Suluhu Hassan has warned public servants strongly after worrying news came out that some of them have been leaking government secrets. The warning came during a speech she gave on May 24, 2025, at the State House Tanzania while swearing in newly appointed leaders. President Samia showed her disappointment and concern about how patriotism and moral values are slowly disappearing among civil servants.
She said she was shocked that some government workers are now taking secret photos of important documents and sharing them, which could hurt the country.
This incident was highlighted after Milardayo shared the story on X, drawing attention to the President’s strong message. Many people on social media have now started discussing what this means for the country’s leadership and public trust.
According to Milardayo’s post, President Samia did not hide her anger about the growing lack of discipline. She said that some public servants believe they are only harming the President when they leak secrets, but they are actually putting the whole country at risk. She stressed that this kind of behavior is not just disloyal but dangerous.
The President’s words were clear and direct. She said the country is “losing patriotism” and that it is time to wake up and restore the values that hold the public service together.
She called out those using their phones to take pictures of classified documents and leaking them as people with no regard for the nation’s safety or progress. She reminded everyone that betraying the country in this way cannot be taken lightly and must be dealt with seriously.
President Samia also used her speech to call on the Ethics Commission to take stronger steps in monitoring the behavior of public servants. She asked leaders in every department to ensure that discipline is restored and maintained among their workers.
She reminded everyone that the government cannot function properly if there is no trust, loyalty, or discipline.
President Samia’s strong words may mark the beginning of a bigger effort to clean up the public service and bring back the values that the nation needs to grow.
She also spoke of the recent happening which saw Boniface Mwangi and the Uganda Agatha Atuhaire being detained in Tanzania and letter released, but with reports of mistreatemt from the Tanzanian authorities.
