Nyandarua Woman representative Faith Gitau and Maa Ngina University Lecturer Beatrice Ndung’u have found themselves in hot soup after their alleged academic fraud ploy became talk of town.
The letter reads:
RE: GROSS ACADEMIC FRAUD INVOLVING HON. FAITH GITAU IN COLLUSION WITH BEATRICE NDUNG’U, A LECTURER AT MAMA NGINA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
We write with profound dismay to expose a cancerous rot eroding the academic integrity of Kenya’s premier institution of higher learning, the University of Nairobi (UoN).
Credible evidence confirms that one Beatrice Ndung’u (Lecturer, Mama Ngina University College; Contact: redacted) aided closely by misguided officers at UoN has masterminded an elaborate scheme that is aimed at conferring fraudulent academic credentials upon Hon. Faith Gitau, the sitting Woman Representative of Nyandarua County. This scandal exemplifies a broader syndicate of “degree laundering” that threatens the very soul of Kenya’s national education system.
Here are the leads available to us in material evidence;
1. Fake Student Identification: Hon. Gitau is registered under Student ID (redacted) (a code also craftily assigned simultaneously to someone else for disguise purposes) for a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies. Faith Gitau’s photograph appears on an official UoN undergraduate student ID, yet she has never attended a single lecture, tutorial, or examination in this programme.
2. Forged Examination Records: A counterfeit semester examination card bearing Gitau’s mugshot and the same registration number is in our custody. This document, used to access exam halls was fabricated to simulate legitimate enrollment.
3. Beatrice Ndung’u’s Role: As Gitau’s alleged accomplice, Ndung’u submitted assignments, largely online while engaging with instructors in a bid to manipulate academic records on Faith Gitau’s behalf. Her position as a lecturer at Mama Ngina University College, a constituency college of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, implicates her in abetting criminal intellectual deceit.
This fraud is occurring against a backdrop of institutional collapse in which the EACC is investigating UoN for Sh. 76 million in unexplained payments, embezzlement, and illegal leasing of university land, including prime properties in Loresho and Spring Valley.
Our Demands;
1. Immediate Suspension: Beatrice Ndung’u must be suspended pending criminal investigation.
2. Cancellation of Degree Programme: Cancel Gitau’s fraudulent enrollment and annul all associated credits.
3. Forensic Audit: The EACC and DCI must audit all records in the School of Arts since 2020.
The University of Nairobi, once a beacon of African scholarship now risks becoming a certificate mill for corrupt elites. As Acting VC, you are aiding the establishment of a legacy of utter rot that is allowing parasites to eat into UoN’s core.
Yours in defence of integrity,
Concerned academics and alumni of the University of Nairobi
