Nyakundi reveals alleged Ksh. 500m State bribe scheme, calls out Hanifa Adan and Kairo Wambui

Date:

Blogger and whistleblower Cyprian Nyakundi has come forward with shocking allegations against influencers Hanifa Adan and Kairo Wambui, accusing them of receiving bribes to derail the Gen Z movement. Nyakundi, known for his outspoken stance on corruption and state interference, shared these claims on his X handle, pointing fingers at individuals he says played a role in suppressing a powerful movement that sought real change in the country.

Responding to a user who expressed frustration over the failed attempt to push for leadership change, Nyakundi shared a screenshot of the same user discouraging Gen Z from marching to State House.

He went on to reveal that he, too, had been approached with a Ksh. 30 million bribe to turn people away from the movement. However, he refused to take the money, exposing how the state allegedly used financial incentives to weaken the protests.

He further stated that the same night he called out Hanifa and Kairo, four people had already attempted to buy his silence.Nyakundi’s statement sheds light on the broader scheme of bribery that was allegedly used to neutralize the movement.

He revealed that the state released Ksh. 500 million out of fear that protesters would breach State House. However, a whooping portion of that money around Ksh. 450 million was reportedly stolen by cartels, leaving only Ksh. 50 million to be used in bribery and propaganda campaigns, including social media manipulation.

His claim suggests that many individuals who appeared to change their stance on the protests may have been financially motivated to do so.

Hanifa Adan and Kairo Wambui had positioned themselves as leaders of the Gen Z movement during its peak. However, their sudden shift, urging protesters to step back instead of pressing forward, raised eyebrows at the time.

Nyakundi’s revelations now seem to confirm what many suspected that these individuals were bought to derail a movement that had gained unstoppable momentum. The betrayal, as alleged by Nyakundi, explains why the protests lost their energy despite the overwhelming public support.

The whistleblower made it clear that he has no regrets about refusing the bribe. Unlike those who took the money and turned against the cause, he stood firm, exposing what he sees as a system determined to silence any real opposition.

His words serve as a warning that corruption is deeply embedded, and even those claiming to fight for change can be swayed by money.

Nyakundi’s allegations add to the growing frustration among Kenyans, who feel let down by people they trusted to lead the movement. The Gen Z protests were seen as a historic push for accountability, and if Nyakundi’s claims are true, the state successfully infiltrated and weakened it through bribery.

This raises serious questions about how genuine some so-called activists really are and whether future movements can withstand similar infiltration.
