Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech has made a bold claim that President William Ruto is likely to dismiss Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi in the near future.
Speaking on Monday, February 3, during an interview on Citizen TV, Koech suggested that Muturi’s actions are pushing the President to take such a step.
He stated that Muturi might be fired within the next two weeks or even sooner, emphasizing that the situation is urgent. Koech said, “He is daring the President to fire him, and it will happen. In one or two weeks, he will be out. It can even be today.”
This statement has sparked discussions about the possible reasons behind Muturi’s potential dismissal and the implications it could have on the government.
Koech accused Muturi of using sensitive issues, such as abductions, for political gain. He claimed that instead of addressing these matters in private cabinet meetings, Muturi has been visiting mortuaries and holding press conferences to discuss them publicly.
According to Koech, this approach is inappropriate and undermines the unity of the government. He argued that Muturi should have raised his concerns with other government leaders behind closed doors rather than making them public.
Koech believes that Muturi’s recent behavior has not only caused tension within the government but has also angered President Ruto, which could lead to his removal from office.
If Koech’s claims are accurate, Muturi’s dismissal could happen very soon, possibly within days or weeks.

This would mark a big change in the leadership of the Public Service Ministry and could have broader implications for the government’s operations.
The situation highlights the challenges of maintaining unity and discipline within a government, especially when high-ranking officials choose to address sensitive issues publicly rather than through internal channels.
It also raises questions about the relationship between President Ruto and his cabinet members, as well as the potential consequences of public disagreements among leaders.
The possibility of Muturi’s removal has generated mixed reactions from the public and political analysts.
Some believe that his actions were necessary to bring attention to critical issues, while others agree with Koech’s view that such matters should be handled privately.
Regardless of the outcome, this situation underscores the importance of communication and collaboration within the government to ensure effective governance.
All eyes will be on President Ruto to see whether he will act on Koech’s prediction and how this decision might impact the stability and functionality of his administration.
