A recent survey by Mwelekeo Insights places Nassir, who is associated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), at 39.9 percent support. The figure gives the incumbent a lead, although the results also point to a closely watched contest as other aspirants continue to position themselves ahead of the election.
Nassir Maintains the Lead
Nassir’s current position comes against the backdrop of his administration’s record since he took office in 2022. His government has focused on areas such as healthcare, education bursaries and creating a more friendly environment for businesses operating in the county.

Further down the survey, Suleiman Shahbal of ODM recorded 3.7 percent, while Hassan Omar of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) registered 3.3 percent.
Other candidates combined for 0.6 percent.
