Murkomen branded a danger to Kenyans as Bishop condemns his bloody rhetoric

Date:

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen is once again under fire after a viral TikTok video showed a Kenyan bishop calling him out for being loud and careless with his words.

The bishop, speaking from a church pulpit, directly attacked Murkomen’s recent statements during the June 25, 2025 protests. The video shared by @deliverancectv shows the bishop describing Murkomen as “amejaa maringo,”.

The message was clear Murkomen talks too much, says nothing useful, and encourages dangerous behavior from the police. His remarks came just days after Murkomen claimed the protesters were attempting a coup and praised police for using force, which left over 10 Kenyans dead and hundreds injured.

Instead of calling for calm or dialogue, Murkomen chose to label the demonstrators as violent and dangerous, a move that now appears to be backfiring.

The bishop’s criticism struck a nerve, and many Kenyans online agreed with his view. Social media was filled with comments from people accusing Murkomen of fueling police brutality with his reckless speeches.

In the TikTok video, subtitles read “Honorable Mr on this you are Wrong,” with a Bible reference reminding him that “Thou shall not kill.”

The message from the pulpit wasn’t just religious; it was moral and political. The bishop wasn’t just preaching he was pointing fingers at a government official who seems to have lost control of his mouth and forgotten his duty to protect lives.

Murkomen, who has denied giving a direct shoot-to-kill order, is trying to walk back his statements, but it may be too late.

His public image, already damaged by past controversial remarks, has taken another hit. Kenyans remember his past behavior always quick to speak, slow to offer real solutions.

His job as Interior CS is not to shout louder than everyone else, but to offer leadership in difficult moments. Yet when blood was spilled in the streets, he chose to praise the security forces and blame protesters instead of investigating the real cause of the chaos.

Religious leaders have always played a big role in Kenyan politics, especially when leaders go off-track. This bishop’s words came at the right time and echoed the thoughts of many ordinary citizens. People are tired of being led by men who speak in anger but act without wisdom.

Instead of calming the situation, Murkomen added fuel to the fire. Instead of showing leadership, he showed arrogance.

“Amejaa maringo” is not just an insult it’s a warning. When those in power speak recklessly, they make the country more dangerous. This backlash should be a wake-up call for Murkomen, but whether he will listen is another matter.

His defenders say he is doing his job, but critics believe he’s doing it with too much noise and not enough thought. The people want safety, not speeches. They want peace, not provocation. And above all, they want leaders who think before they talk.
