MP Caleb Amisi fingers sycophants Kaluma, Junet for leading Raila astray, sinking ODM with greed, sycophancy

Date:

Caleb Amisi’s recent remarks expose the deep rot within ODM, highlighting how opportunistic figures like Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma have not only misled Raila Odinga but also contributed to the party’s downfall.

These two politicians have built their careers on sycophancy, deceit, and personal gain at the expense of the party’s loyal supporters. Instead of strengthening ODM, they have used it as a stepping stone for personal enrichment while alienating critical voter blocs.

Junet Mohamed, close ally of Raila, has turned ODM into his personal playground. His arrogance and dismissive attitude toward other party members have only served to fracture the party further. His constant bragging about barely needing to visit his constituency speaks volumes about his neglect of the electorate.

How can a leader boast that merely chanting Raila’s name secures his re-election? This mindset is an insult to democracy and exposes the entitlement that has driven ODM into the ground. While other MPs, like Caleb Amisi, have had to fight tooth and nail in politically hostile territories, Junet has enjoyed a free ride, contributing nothing of value to ODM’s national strategy.

Peter Kaluma is no different. He, too, has mastered the art of sycophancy, choosing personal loyalty to Raila over strategic political maneuvering. However, instead of strengthening the party, Kaluma’s blind devotion has cost ODM crucial support. His abrasive approach has alienated potential allies, pushing away key voter blocs that once stood firmly behind Raila.

By attacking fellow ODM members who dared to question the party’s direction, he has only deepened divisions within the movement. ODM was once a symbol of unity and resilience, but under the influence of figures like Kaluma and Junet, it has become a house divided.

The betrayal of ODM supporters is even more evident when one considers the sacrifices made by ordinary Kenyans for the party’s cause. While people were beaten, tear-gassed, and imprisoned for fighting for Raila’s presidency, Junet and Kaluma were busy securing their political futures.

They have enriched themselves through their cozy relationships with government operatives while dismissing the struggles of the youth, the Mulembe nation, the Gusii community, and even the Kikuyu voters who once rallied behind Raila. The 1.3 million Kikuyu votes Raila garnered in the last election have been wasted because of ODM’s failure to build on that goodwill.

The hypocrisy of these so-called party loyalists is glaring. When ODM leaders like Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino were mobilizing supporters and risking their lives for the party, Junet and Kaluma were nowhere to be seen. Instead, they were busy enjoying the spoils of political deal-making.

Their sudden rise to prominence within ODM is not due to merit but rather their ability to manipulate Raila and silence dissenting voices. The party has been hijacked by individuals who care more about their positions than the movement’s survival.

ODM is now a shadow of its former self, thanks to the greed of a few individuals who have turned it into a personal fiefdom. The youth, once the backbone of ODM’s revolution, have been pushed aside, replaced by career politicians who only show up when election season approaches.

Kenya needs a political renaissance—one that prioritizes integrity over loyalty to individuals, strategy over blind obedience, and service over self-enrichment. If ODM does not rid itself of these parasites, it risks sinking into political oblivion, and the blame will squarely fall on those who have sacrificed the party’s vision for their selfish ambitions.
