Senator Hezena Lemaletian’s engagement drama has taken a new twist after claims by Maverick Aoko, a well-known voice on X, accusing her of lying about several things. According to Aoko, the senator is not 28 years old as she claimed but actually 35, born in 1989.
This makes her 10 years older than her former fiancé, Mussa Lenyumpa, who was born in 1999. Aoko says this age gap was kept hidden from Mussa and only came to light after he did his own digging, which led to him calling off the engagement. Aoko also questioned the amount of dowry involved.
While Senator Hezena said she returned KES 100,000 as dowry, Aoko shared what she claims is a bank receipt showing KES 474,000 was paid. This has created a big argument online, with people wondering why there’s such a huge difference in the amounts.
Aoko suggests that the senator wanted to make it look like a small affair, but the truth is that Mussa and his people spent more than was acknowledged. Another serious claim made by Aoko is about the reason the engagement ended. While the official story says Hezena broke things off after a background check by Samburu elders, Aoko insists it was Mussa who walked away.
She says Mussa found out about her real age and also suspected that the senator may have had a history of multiple sexual partners. Aoko even claims that Mussa, being a doctor, noticed signs of sexually transmitted infections and asked that they both go for testing, especially since they were planning for marriage.
According to her, the senator refused and things went downhill from there. Aoko went on to accuse the senator of having a questionable past and linked her to Saitabao Ole Kanchory, who was Raila Odinga’s campaign manager. She says their relationship contributed to Kanchory’s downfall, leading to his law firm closing and his house being sold.
Aoko paints a picture of someone who has left a trail of broken lives behind her, and she even compared Hezena to adult film star Mia Khalifa. She also accused her of fighting over men with other politicians, including a physical confrontation with Senator Orwoba.
According Aoko, this is all part of a cover-up and that Mussa was the one who chose to leave after discovering things that disturbed him. She even posted a video where the senator appears to be forcing a ring back on Mussa, telling him not to take it off, which Aoko says is proof that the senator was desperate to keep the engagement going.
This video, along with the alleged bank slip, is what Aoko uses to support her side of the story.The age issue has also brought up more questions. While Aoko says Hezena was born in 1989, some online sources put her age closer to early 30s.
One site even lists her birth year as 1996, but this seems unlikely given she graduated from university in 2015. That would make her 19 at the time of graduation, which is possible but rare.
Most signs point to her being older than she claims, though without official documents, it’s hard to know for sure. All these conflicting stories have confused many people. On one side, there are official statements that say the engagement ended because of cultural reasons and that the senator acted with dignity.
