Karatina Man disappears after reported threats linked to a cap with “Wantam” inscription

Date:

Lawrence Gachuru, popularly known as Kawanjiku, has been reported missing, and his disappearance has left his family in deep distress.

The news has shaken not only his close relatives but also friends and members of the community who are trying to understand how he could vanish so suddenly. His family explains that the trouble began when Gachuru started receiving threats related to a cap he often wore, which carried the word “Wantam.”

At first, these threats were a source of concern, but no one thought they could eventually lead to such a worrying situation.

According to his relatives, the day he disappeared seemed ordinary until the evening when he left his home with the intention of depositing some money at a place not far away.

The location was only about 200 meters from his home, so his family expected him to return quickly. However, that was the last time they saw him.

Hours passed, and when he did not come back, fear started to grow within the household.

They now believe something serious must have happened to him along the short path he took. The family suspects that he may have been ambushed or confronted, leaving his current whereabouts completely unknown.

The uncertainty has been unbearable for those who know him. His family describes the situation as one filled with helplessness and anxiety, as each day without any sign of him deepens their fear.

They reported the matter promptly to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Karatina, hoping that a thorough investigation will uncover what truly happened.

For them, time is of the essence, and every lead or piece of information could be vital in tracing his steps.

The family has now turned to the public for assistance, appealing to anyone who might have seen him or who may have relevant information to share it with the authorities.

Their plea is straightforward they want Gachuru found and safely returned to his loved ones. They continue to pray that someone somewhere has details that could bring them closer to answers.
