“I Promised, consulted and now ready to speak” Gachagua reveals the bombshell day

Date:

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that he will present an interim report on comments from consultations at his Wamunyoro home.

The former DP stated that he would submit a report on the comments he received from leaders and religious leaders across the country.

Gachagua has lately hosted a group of leaders from across the country at his home, claiming he is gathering ideas and insights on how the country should proceed.

The former DP stated that he would have provided comments earlier if it had not been for the huge response.

“I had promised that by December 31, 2024, to report on consultations I have been having. I ask for forgiveness for being a little bit late. It is because the responses and feedback were overwhelming,” the former DP said.

“At first, I thought that it would only be people from Mt Kenya who will show up, however, many people from across the country came and I saw it fit not to lock anyone out.

On Sunday, February 9, I will find time and give out the report on the feedback.”

Gachagua committed to continue speaking with leaders around the country about how to best bring the country forward.

He spoke on Sunday at Almighty God Ministries Church in Mathioya, Murang’a County. On Saturday, Gachagua shared what leaders had said during ongoing meetings.

On Saturday, Gachagua met with a Samburu County team to hear their thoughts and opinions.

According to the former DP, leaders and Kenyans have told him that the solutions to the challenges lie inside the citizenry themselves.

“Today, I met a team from Samburu County and listened to their views and opinions on the various issues around our country and their expectations and ideas on how to deal with them,” Gachagua said in a statement on X. “One of the most impressive things I have experienced during these consultations is that Kenyans know what is going wrong, and they have simple and practical suggestions of what we need to do to fix what’s not working. Essentially, the solutions to our problems are within us.”

The former DP believes that Kenyans must ensure that everyone feels involved in the process.

“We will re-orientate our political discourse. The consultations continue.”Gachagua, who was impeached in October last year, has stayed active by hosting politicians, opinion leaders, church leaders, and professionals from the region as he strategizes for 2027.

Over the last month, his home has become a hotbed of political activity, with delegations from several counties in Mount Kenya gathering to explore prospective political alternatives.
