How To Apply For Teachers Service Commission (TSC) 20,000 JSS Internship Spots

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 20,000 internship opportunities for junior secondary school (JSS) teachers to support the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).

According to a notice posted on the commission’s website, the 12-month program will aim to provide unemployed teachers with practical experience and exposure to the workplace.

The JSS interns will receive a monthly stipend of Ksh.20,000, which will be subject to statutory deductions.

Teachers who complete the program will receive a certificate.Interested teachers must submit their applications online through the TSC website by November 4, 2024.

To be eligible for recruitment, teachers must be Kenyan citizens, registered with the Commission, and should be holders of at least a Diploma in Education with a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus).

All applicants must present original academic and professional certificates, including a copy of the Teacher Registration Certificate, a copy of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) card (if applicable), and a copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport.

Other documents include two color passport-sized photographs, a copy of the Kenya Revenue Authority’s Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN), and Personal Accident Insurance to cover personal risks during the internship.

Furthermore, applicants must be unemployed and have not previously worked for the Commission on permanent and pensionable terms.

TSC informed all applicants that successful candidates would be assigned to any Junior Secondary School in the county where they will be interviewed or in any part of the country where the vacancy exists.

“The selection of Candidates will strictly be on merit and based on the number of vacancies per County,” the notice read in part.

i) Click www.tsc.go.ke to visit the TSC official website.

ii) Under the Careers tab, click Teachers and Recruitment of Teachers.

iii) You will be required to log in through the TSC Online recruitment portal by keying in your TSC Number, ID number and contact number.

iv) Fill in the information and submit the required documents.

v) Click submit to complete the application
