Grace Mulei’s arrest sparks outrage as Boniface Mwangi accuses Ruto of weak leadership

Date:

Activist Boniface Mwangi has sharply criticized the recent arrest of Grace Mulei, a patient who interrupted a media interview with Health Cabinet Secretary at Afya House.

Mulei was reportedly arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a move that has drawn widespread condemnation.

Mwangi has not minced his words, describing President William Ruto as a coward whose administration is marked by desperation and disregard for fundamental human rights.

According to Mwangi, the arrest of a patient from a hospital bed and the earlier cases of alleged abductions of children from bedsitters reflect a government that is losing grip and resorting to intimidation tactics.

He argued that no strong leader would stoop to such levels, pointing to this as evidence of a weak presidency.

Mwangi believes Ruto’s actions are not only unjust but also a sign of an administration aware that its time in power is running out.

The activist further accused President Ruto of trying to cause maximum damage before exiting office.

He criticized the use of state machinery to silence dissenters, activists, and ordinary citizens who dare to speak out.

In his morning statement, Mwangi stated, “President Ruto is a coward. From abducting kids from their bedsitters to kidnapping patients from hospital beds! No strong president would do such things! Ruto knows he is going home, and he wants to cause maximum damage before he goes. He is now destroying our souls. #RutoMustGo.”

The arrest of Grace Mulei has sparked anger, with many questioning the rationale behind targeting a patient who was already vulnerable.

The incident at Afya House, where Mulei disrupted a media briefing, is now being interpreted as a cry for help rather than an act of defiance.

Critics argue that instead of addressing the grievances that led to such actions, the government has opted for intimidation, further alienating the public.

This incident adds to a growing list of complaints against the Ruto administration, which has been accused of stifling free speech and cracking down on activists.

The arrest of Mulei is seen as a continuation of these trends, where individuals challenging the government are met with harsh retaliation rather than dialogue.

Many Kenyans view such acts as an abuse of power and a clear indication of a government that prioritizes silencing critics over addressing the root causes of dissent.

Boniface Mwangi’s remarks reflect the frustrations of many who feel that the government has abandoned its mandate to serve the people.

The ongoing arrests and intimidation are being interpreted as a desperate attempt to suppress any form of opposition.

As the debate rages on, calls for accountability and respect for human rights are growing louder, with many demanding that the government focus on solving pressing issues rather than targeting activists and vulnerable individuals.
