Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia County has announced that starting Wednesday, May 28, 2025, he will begin working from a new office located in Kiminini Constituency. This move comes after the Anti-Corruption Court in Nairobi barred him from accessing his main office in Kitale.
The announcement was shared through the official Facebook page of Natembeya Mashinani, which regularly updates the public on the governor’s activities and plans across the county.
The post stated clearly that all county services will now be offered from the Kiminini Sub-county offices. Natembeya’s communication team confirmed this shift and reassured residents that service delivery would continue without disruption.
The news has attracted mixed reactions online. One user, using the name Gymase Junior, supported the move strongly by saying that once someone is a soldier, they are always a soldier, pointing out how some leaders in hardship areas like North Eastern Kenya operate from under trees.
He encouraged the governor to serve the people from wherever he is, stating that the office is not a building but the leader himself. Other users also praised Natembeya’s decision, seeing it as a clear sign of commitment to serve the public despite the legal and political challenges he is currently facing.
On Tuesday, during a homecoming ceremony in Kitale, Natembeya addressed a crowd of supporters and made it clear that he will not give up on his duties. He promised the people of Trans Nzoia that he would continue to lead and serve them to the best of his ability, no matter the obstacles.

This message was received warmly by those in attendance, many of whom expressed admiration for his determination. To make sure that the Kiminini office is ready for operations, preparations have already been underway.
The same Natembeya Mashinani Facebook page also shared images and updates showing that some work has already been completed at the new location. These efforts aim to make the space suitable for official county work and ensure a smooth transition so that services continue without delays or inconvenience to the public.
Despite the restrictions from the court, Governor Natembeya appears determined to keep things moving in Trans Nzoia. His actions have shown that he is ready to face challenges head-on and do what is necessary to stay connected to the people who elected him. Many are watching how this situation unfolds, but for now, Natembeya seems to have found a way to continue his leadership without interruption.
