Family Shares Last Moments Before Lover Allegedly Stabbed Conrad Nyabuto 27 Times on His Birthday

Date:

Fresh details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Conrad Nyabuto, a 27-year-old ICT specialist who was brutally stabbed 27 times in Ruiru, Kiambu County, on his 27th birthday.

Nyabuto was laid to rest on Friday, December 27, in Kigoro Village, Kisii County, in a somber ceremony attended by family and friends. During the burial, family members revealed the troubling events leading up to his death on December 23, 2024.

Troubled Relationship

According to one relative, Nyabuto had expressed his intent to end the relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, who is now the main suspect in the case.

“He had already told some of his female friends that he wanted to break up with her,” the relative disclosed. “He said the lady was a real pain in his life.”

Nyabuto’s decision to end the relationship reportedly led him to visit the suspect at her house. A heated altercation ensued, ultimately culminating in the young man’s death.

Brutal Attack

Relatives recounted the horrifying details of the attack. Nyabuto was stabbed 27 times in the back, with additional cuts on his chest, and his throat was slit—strong indications of a crime of passion.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that he died from excessive bleeding due to multiple stab wounds.

Ongoing Investigations

The key suspect, who also sustained stab wounds during the incident, is currently under 24-hour police surveillance as she recovers at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital.

The Nyabuto family has called for justice, urging authorities to investigate thoroughly and ensure the case remains free from external interference.

“We insist that no one should meddle with this case. The police should be allowed to complete their investigations,” a family member affirmed.

Rising Cases of Passion-Driven Murders

This heartbreaking incident has drawn attention to the increasing cases of murders linked to failed relationships in Kenya. While many victims in similar cases have been women, Nyabuto’s death underscores the broader issue of domestic violence affecting both genders.

Conrad’s tragic demise bore striking similarities to a recent case in Trans-Nzoia County, where a medical student was stabbed to death days before his graduation.

The family, friends, and community now mourn the loss of a bright young man whose life was cut short in a senseless act of violence.
