Facebook post by Adoyo Owidi exposes brutality under Governor Gladys Wanga

Date:

Adoyo Owidi has raised serious concerns against Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga in a strongly worded Facebook post that paints a grim picture of violence and bloodshed under her leadership.

His message, directed personally to the governor, accuses her of promoting brutality and reviving a dark chapter of political chaos that many in the county hoped had ended. In his post, Owidi speaks about a young man named Jim Osumba, his clansman, who once worked for Ong’ondo Were before being employed by the Homa Bay County Government as an enforcement officer.

According to him, Osumba was part of a group allegedly led by Wanga in what he described as a “senseless assault” on supporters of Aroko.

The post goes on to state that after the confrontation, Osumba himself was later attacked by members of the public following the deaths of two Aroko supporters.

Owidi’s post goes beyond this single incident, recalling what he describes as a violent legacy linked to the previous regime of Ong’ondo Were.

He accuses Governor Wanga of repeating the same mistakes and using the same violent tactics that once divided the county. He draws a disturbing comparison between the past and present, claiming that under Ong’ondo Were’s reign, the people of Homa Bay experienced fear and bloodshed, and now under Wanga’s leadership, the cycle is being revived.

His words are direct and sharp, saying that Wanga once presented herself as a smiling and hopeful new leader but has now turned into someone “always thirsty for blood.”

The post reflects deep frustration and disappointment, portraying Wanga as a leader who has abandoned her earlier promise of peace and inclusivity. By invoking the imagery of bloodshed and violence, Owidi aims to expose what he believes is a culture of impunity within the county administration.

He pleads with her to stop the violence, reminding her that the young people of Homa Bay have a future worth protecting. His statement that “you have started initiating Ong’ondo Were’s son with floods of blood” shows just how strongly he feels that Wanga is walking in the same footsteps of the late Kasipul MP, encouraging a system that thrives on intimidation and cruelty rather than justice and service to the people.

The anger in his post mirrors growing dissatisfaction among sections of Homa Bay residents who feel that the county government has become oppressive and disconnected from the people it is supposed to serve.

The image of a “new bride” who turned into a “vampire” is symbolic of the betrayal that Owidi and others feel a promise of change that has instead turned into a nightmare of fear and violence. His appeal is simple yet powerful, (that Governor Wanga should spare the sons of Homa Bay, stop the political bloodshed, and allow the youth to build their future without fear)

Through this Facebook message, Adoyo Owidi delivers a strong and painful reminder of the dangers of political violence and misuse of power. His words carry the voice of a people tired of being pawns in the struggles of politicians who seem to value loyalty and power more than life and peace.

The plea to Governor Gladys Wanga stands as both a warning and a cry for leadership that values humanity above politics, reminding her that the people of Homa Bay deserve better than a return to the dark days of violence and bloodshed.
