Geoffrey Kiprono Walley, the man police identified as the prime suspect in the murder of prison warder Abigael Chepkemoi, has been found dead in an apparent suicide.
Officers recovered his body hanging from a tree in Kabunyony Forest, Baringo County, after a joint search involving Directorate of Criminal Investigations personnel and local police.
Empty pesticide containers were found near the scene. According to investigators, Walley had allegedly informed family members of his intention to take his own life before the discovery.
