Subukia MP race takes shape as Hussein Dida pushes bold California-style plan

Date:

A new political voice is beginning to draw attention in Subukia as Nairobi-based IT and AI expert Hussein Dida sets his sights on the 2027 parliamentary race.

His message is simple but ambitious, focusing on change, development, and a fresh approach to leadership in an area that many residents feel has untapped potential.

Dida’s growing popularity is being driven by what his supporters describe as a bold and forward-looking idea transforming Subukia into what they call the “California of Kenya.” While the phrase may sound big, at its core it reflects a desire for progress through technology, innovation, and better opportunities for ordinary people.

His vision is built around the belief that Subukia can become a modern and thriving constituency if the right investments and leadership are put in place. What makes his campaign stand out is how it connects with different groups in the community.

Young people, especially Gen Z, have shown strong interest in his message, likely because of his background in technology and his focus on innovation. At the same time, many mothers and families have also warmed up to him due to his approachable nature and the way he engages with everyday community issues.

This wide appeal is helping him slowly build a support base across different sections of the population.

Beyond his ideas, Dida has also been visible on the ground, taking part in community activities and showing support during difficult moments.

He recently stood with the family of Charles Mwangi during his burial, where he spoke about the importance of unity and compassion. His presence at such events has helped shape an image of a leader who is not only focused on policy but also on people.

He has also been involved in development-focused efforts, including attending a harambee at Holy Family School alongside parents and local stakeholders.

The event aimed to improve school infrastructure, and his participation highlighted his belief that progress can be achieved when communities come together to support shared goals.

For many residents, such actions matter as much as campaign promises. At the center of Dida’s plan is a commitment to improving key areas that directly affect daily life.

He has spoken about the need to strengthen education systems, create economic opportunities, improve security, and upgrade infrastructure within Subukia.

These are long-standing concerns in many parts of the constituency, and his focus on them suggests a practical understanding of local needs.

Hussein Dida is positioning himself as a candidate who represents both change and possibility. His ideas may still be taking shape, but they are already starting to spark conversations among residents about what the future of Subukia could look like.

For a constituency that has often been overlooked, his vision is offering a sense of hope and a reason for people to imagine something different.
