Raila issues final remarks after concluding his AUC campaigns ahead of elections

Date:

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has finished his campaign for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship. His last stop was in Bujumbura, Burundi, where he met President Evariste Ndayishimiye.

He thanked his supporters and said he would now head to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the final stage before the elections. His announcement led to mixed reactions from Kenyans, with many supporting him while others had different views.

Many Kenyans believe Raila is the right person for the job. Some have encouraged him to push forward, saying he has the experience needed for the role. Others have already congratulated him, convinced that his leadership record gives him an advantage.

His supporters say that he has spent many years fighting for democracy and good governance, not just in Kenya but across Africa. They believe his knowledge of politics and leadership makes him the best choice for the AU position.

However, not everyone agrees. Some Kenyans feel that Raila should come back home because Kenya still needs him. They believe his presence in local politics is more important than taking up a continental role.

Others think his bid for the AU job is more about personal ambition than service to Africa. Some people also say that if he fails to win the position, he will likely return to Kenyan politics, which could bring back old political tensions.

Despite the different opinions, many Kenyans see Raila’s campaign as an important moment. His supporters remind him of the sacrifices he has made in the past, especially in Kenya’s politics.

They say he has always fought for democracy, even when it was not easy. Some also recall the times he made tough choices, including conceding after disputed elections to keep the country stable.

To them, his bid for the AU position is proof that he is a leader who thinks beyond Kenya. Now, as he moves to the final stage, his supporters remain hopeful that he will win.

The elections will decide whether he takes the AU role or returns to Kenyan politics. Whatever happens, his campaign has already left a mark, and many people will be watching to see what comes next for Raila Odinga.
