CS Wahome and PS Hinga exposed for misleading Kenyans on the housing levy with false claims

Date:

The Kenyan government has been pushing for the housing fund contribution, with Principal Secretary Charles Hinga explaining that it is not a tax but a form of savings, this contradicting statements have been widely shared by Kenyans.co.ke.

He says that people who contribute will have the option to get an affordable house or, after seven years, receive their money back with some interest. This explanation was shared widely, including on social media by Lucky Audrey.

However, many Kenyans are questioning whether Hinga is being honest, and there are also complaints that Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome is not considering the struggles of ordinary citizens.

Many people are already dealing with the high cost of living, and adding another deduction from their salaries makes life even harder. The government says the housing fund is a savings plan that will help people in the future, but some Kenyans feel that the money could be better used for daily needs like food, school fees, and healthcare.

Instead of seeing the contribution as something beneficial, many see it as an extra burden. This is why some believe that Hinga is not telling the full truth about what this fund really means for the average citizen.

At the same time, CS Alice Wahome has been criticized for not handling these concerns well. Many feel that she is not listening to the people and does not understand how difficult things are for ordinary Kenyans. Her response to the issue has been seen as uncaring, and this has only made the situation worse. Instead of clearly explaining how the fund will work and addressing people’s worries, the government has been pushing it without proper engagement.

This has made Kenyans even more frustrated. The idea of helping people own homes sounds good, but the way the housing fund is being introduced raises many questions.

People want to know exactly how the money will be used, how they can be sure they will get their money back, and how fair the process of giving out houses will be. Without clear answers, it is difficult for Kenyans to trust the system.

There is also the fear that, like other government projects, this one might be mismanaged, and the money could end up benefiting a few people instead of helping everyone.

In the end, the housing fund contribution may have good intentions, but it is causing a lot of concern. The government, especially PS Hinga and CS Wahome, must be more open and honest about how the fund will work.

They need to listen to Kenyans and make sure that people are not being forced into something they do not fully understand or trust. If the government wants people to support this plan, it must prove that it is truly meant to help them, not just take
