Ndindi Nyoro has spoken out firmly about the rising cases of insecurity in the country, especially those involving police officers. During a public event, the Kiharu MP stated clearly that the life of every Kenyan is important and should be protected by all leaders, whether elected or nominated.
His message came at a time when many Kenyans are expressing fear and concern about recent killings that have left families mourning and communities angry.
Without directly mentioning names, Nyoro pointed fingers at President William Ruto’s administration, calling on the government to take responsibility. He said leaders must not ignore the cries of the people, especially when those cries are about safety and justice.
He insisted that it is not acceptable for citizens to speak up about issues and then become targets for doing so. According to him, this goes against the very purpose of leadership.
Nyoro also defended the right of every Kenyan to speak freely and question those in power. He said criticism is part of a working democracy and should not be treated as a threat. In his words, if someone in a leadership position cannot handle being questioned, then it is better for that person to resign rather than expect people to remain silent as they suffer. His statement was firm and did not leave room for doubt about where he stands on the matter.
The MP’s comments touched the hearts of many Kenyans who feel ignored and unsafe. Cases of insecurity have been on the rise, and the fact that some of the suspects are police officers has made the situation worse. People are now questioning the government’s commitment to protecting ordinary citizens and upholding basic human rights.
Nyoro’s remarks also show a shift in attitude among some Kenya Kwanza leaders, who had previously supported the government without question. His stand shows that not everyone in the ruling alliance is happy with how things are being handled, especially when it comes to the safety and freedom of Kenyans.
