A section of lawmakers has come out in defense of President William Ruto, urging him to ignore online critics and focus on delivering his agenda.
The MPs dismissed recent online attacks as distractions aimed at undermining the President’s work.
Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno accused critics of deliberately attempting to derail the government’s progress.
Speaking at a public event, he said the criticism was politically motivated.
“These attacks are designed to create division and slow down the President’s plans for Kenyans,” Ngeno remarked.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi echoed the sentiment, advising the President to remain focused. He urged Ruto to prioritize service delivery and ignore the noise on social media. “Let them talk. What matters is that you deliver for the people who elected you,” Sudi stated.
The MPs pointed out that President Ruto has already made big strides since taking office.
They highlighted initiatives in agriculture, infrastructure, and education as examples of his commitment to improving lives.
Sudi specifically noted the fertilizer subsidy program, which has reduced costs for farmers, as a game-changer for rural communities.
“This is proof that the government is working, and no amount of online negativity can erase that,” he said.
Ngeno and Sudi also urged Kenyans to judge the government based on its actions rather than unverified claims.
They called on citizens to support President Ruto’s efforts to transform the economy.
The lawmakers dismissed the critics as individuals seeking relevance by spreading negativity.
They claimed that some of the loudest voices online were former leaders unhappy with losing power.
As political debates rage on, the MPs reaffirmed their commitment to backing the President.
“We are with him all the way. Let the detractors know their efforts will not succeed,” Ngeno declared.
President Ruto has remained silent on the issue, choosing instead to focus on implementing his administration’s agenda.
His allies believe this approach will ultimately win public trust.
