‘Who Is Abducting Kenyans?’ Nandi Senator Blasts Security Agencies For Failing The Public

Date:

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has waded into the ongoing discussion about the rising cases of abduction in the country.

Cherargei said police should now explain to Kenyans who is behind the abductions given that the service has distanced itself from the criminal conduct.

“Now that the National Police Service has confirmed that they are not aware who is abducting Kenyans, then together with DCI should immediately tell Kenyans who is doing the abduction in the country,” the senator said in a statement Wednesday.

Cherargei stated the police must provide answers regarding the location of the abducted victims and explain who is behind it

“unless the police are powerless against this vice of abduction”.

The abduction of four young Kenyans in recent days has generated national debate, with growing alarm over the resurgence of a criminal operation targeting innocent civilians after police denied involvement.

Cherargei stated that as a prior victim of state-sponsored abduction, he understands how the affected families feel.

“It is horrifying experience that no one should go through,” he said.Cherargei’s declaration follows public outrage over the disappearance of three social media users and an unidentified fourth abductee, who were apparently picked up by unknown people.

The names were listed as Bill Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Bernard Kavuli.

Allegations linked the police to the abductions, but the National Police Service strenuously denied the charges.

Cherargei urged Kenyans on Wednesday to be more thoughtful and compassionate in their criticism of the administration.

He emphasized the significance of social media users being courteous in the discourse about national issues.

“My advice to all Kenyans is that if you have to criticise government, which is your right, do it constructively, respectfully and decently,” he stated.“

There is no need to personalise attacks, demonise or insult; don’t make a point, make a difference.”With the police having cleared themselves of culpability, the major issue remains: who is behind the well-planned abductions?
