Agnes Kagure has expressed her gratitude to former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for standing with her family during one of the most difficult moments in their lives following the death of her mother, Elder Mary Mwangi.
In a heartfelt message, Kagure thanked Sonko for his support and presence during the mourning period, saying he has always been there for her family whenever they faced challenges.
She noted that both she and her family deeply appreciate his kindness and ended her message with a prayer asking God to bless him.
The message came as family, friends, and leaders continued to gather with the Kagure family to mourn and celebrate the life of Mary Mwangi.
On Sunday evening, a prayer service was held at the family’s home in Nairobi, bringing together relatives, close friends, and well-wishers who came to offer comfort and support.
Among those present were Mike Sonko and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who joined the family in prayer and reflection.
Clergy from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (P.C.E.A.) led the service as those in attendance remembered the life and legacy of the late Mary Mwangi.
The gathering provided an opportunity for mourners to share memories, offer condolences, and support the bereaved family during their time of grief.
Family members, friends, and leaders spent time together reflecting on Mary Mwangi’s life and the impact she had on those around her.
Mary Mwangi’s burial is scheduled to take place this Saturday in Nyeri County. Since news of her passing became public, many people have sent messages of condolence and encouragement to the family.
Friends, supporters, and members of the public have continued to stand with the family as they prepare to lay their loved one to rest.
As the family prepares to give their mother a final farewell, they continue to draw strength from the support they have received.
Many who knew Mary Mwangi remember her as a woman of faith, strong family values, and dedication to her community.
The prayer service was a moment of unity, bringing together relatives, friends, and leaders to honor her memory and support the family during a difficult period.
